"When I first started at The Mercury, there were nine reporters in the newsroom (...) I am now all of those people.” -- Evan Brandt, the last local news reporter living in Pottstown, PA.

A hedge fund took over the newspaper company Evan has worked for since the '90s and laid off journalists and sold the building. Evan now works from his attic. He gets paid for only a portion of the time he puts in daily.  A journalist to his core, he had a question for the hedge fund president, so he went to the man's home on Long Island to ask it.
